The memorandum and association of Transition Town Bridport states the the purpose of the company is "To promote for the benefit of the public the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment, and to advance the education of the public in the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment".*

*It should be noted that this is a standard form of words which were chosen as best suiting TTB's purpose when the company was being created and not written by TTB itself. "
