Directors Directors elected on 6th November 2011: Bruce Douglas, Ian Gallon, Anne Rickard, Dave Rickard, Jim Shearman, Sarah Wilberforce (current Chair). Company Secretary Mike Harvey Officers Administrator - Chris Holland, Treasurer - Pam Gallon, Press Officer - Sam Wilberforce, Website editors Sam Wilberforce & Anne Rickard, Newsletter editor - Anne Rickard, Fundraiser - none at present Steering group New Structure for TTB's Steering Group
The new TTB directors met recently and discussed how the company would be
structured regarding meetings from now on.
The biggest change will be that the Steering
Group will not be an open meeting any more, but consist of the Directors and all
officers plus one representative from each of the sub-groups - of which at
present we have six:
Awareness and Education, Energy Descent, Food, Re-skilling, Young Transitioners, Zero Waste.
Each sub-group will be asked to provide a
representative at each Steering Group meeting to update the
others on their progress which can be disseminated throughout the other groups
and publicised through the newsletter and website. The representative does not
have to be the same person each month, but we ask that they are a registered TTB
member.
It is only the Steering Group that will be
limited. TTB welcomes anyone to attend the regular monthly Green Drinks meetings which anyone can attend to meet and find out about us.
All current projects are detailed on the TTB website under 'Groups'. If anyone belonging to an outside/associated group wishes to collaborate with TTB on any project, or has ideas for a new project, please let us know and you will be welcomed to the next Steering Group meeting. The memorandum and association of Transition Town Bridport states the the purpose of the company is "To promote for the benefit of the public the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment, and to advance the education of the public in the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment".* *It should be noted that this is a standard form of words which were chosen as best suiting TTB's purpose when the company was being created and not written by TTB itself. The full memorandum and association notes are too lengthy to print here, but are available from admin@transitiontownbridport.co.uk on request. |
