Fourteen
people came to a shortened meeting of the steering group, which was held on Thursday
17th December 2009 in The Tiger, and lasted an hour.
There
was a report following the schools' rights-respecting event at the Town Hall, which went
very well and a decision has been taken to move towards making Bridport a
rights-respecting town.
TTB are invited
to have a display stand at an all-day event in January 2010, taking one of the
rights as a theme.
A volunteer came
forward to take the lead in organising this.
The
NI7 funding scheme application is being completed.
The
screening of ‘The Age of Stupid’ was very successful with a full house, several
sign-ups to TTB and a profit of approximately £500.
A
group of volunteers plan to meet on 24th January to complete the
Transition Network application form.
The
website is now back on-line and the content is gradually being returned.
TTB
will be allowed input into WATAG’s project to produce a foot and cycle path
map, which will also include bus routes.
It is hoped the map will highlight the lack of good cycle paths in
Bridport and consequently promote an improvement.
There
is still nobody willing to volunteer to become funding co-ordinator.
There
was nothing to report from the Heart & Soul group.
BREG
are continuing with their plans for a householders awareness event, penciled in
for May 2010.
They asked TTB to deal
with the subject of energy saving.
The
importance of advertising the event was discussed and a door-to-door leafleting
campaign was agreed to be a good idea.
There
was a discussion about the set-up and constitution of TTB.
There were mixed views but it was agreed that
the process of completing the Transition Network application will answer most,
if not all, the questions raised and will also help to formalise and give
structure to the operation of the group.
The
steering group plan to meet again on 28th
January 2010.
